Become a Soldier

The 11th (North Devonshire) Regiment of Foot are recruiting for Soldiers to join our regiment.

As a Soldier in the 11th Regiment of Foot, you will learn how to perform drill manoeuvres, as well as marching, guard duties, taking part in firing displays and re-enactment battles. You will wear period military clothing as-well as being armed with a Brown Bess musket.

If you are interested in Joining the "Bloody Eleventh" as a soldier, we would be happy to invite you to one of our events. Where you will get to have a go and try out the various activities we have during the day, and in the evening, join the rest of the regiment around the camp fire.

Anyone can join the regiment but under 18's must be accompanied by a guardian whilst attending events. If you are aged over 14 -16 you may go on the field as a soldier but you will not be able to fire. If you are aged 10 -14 you may apply as a musician but you have to be over 12 to go on the field. Anyone under the age of 10 will be able to join the regiment as a camp follower.
